The 11th Annual Buddy Walk in Central Texas was Sunday, October 24, 2010!
It was Team Presley's 5th year at the Buddy Walk!!
All of your registration fees and donations go to the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas (DSACT). DSACT has been such an amazing source of support, information, advice, education and social interaction for our family and Presley. It is a non-profit organization that depends on donations and events like the Buddy Walk to continue service Central Texas families the way it does. It is so instrumental that I heard a family the other day say they are moving to Austin because of all that DSACT does in terms of education and helping parents to advocate for what their kids are legally intitled to - pretty impressive!!!
Our theme this year was GO TEAM GO! I'll post pictures as soon as I get some!
This was really a special year for the Buddy Walk. We walked in memory of LORI TULLOS BARTA. Lori was President of DSACT for 2 yrs and died in Aug. of this year due to complications during a pretty routine heart surgery. She left behind her husband, 3 little girls, one of which has Down syndrome and a legacy to make the world and especially our community a better place for people with Down syndrome.
