We are an official 501(c)(3), non-profit corporation now!!! This has allowed us to take Upside of Down.org to another level of our long term plan. The first phase was to get the website going and raise awareness, that's going great - thanks to all of you that are forwarding our site on to others!
One of our longer term goals was to send individuals from lower income families with Down syndrome to summer camp. The past three years, we've primarily sent campers to Down Home Ranch in Elgin, Tx. They are focusing more on their full time residents program, so there aren't as many available slots there. A few of the other camps that we hope to send individuals to are: Camp Summit, Camp Camp, Camp Barnebus, Sammy's House and more! Please complete the nomination form below and if you have a preferred camp in mind, please notate that!

We sent 8 campers in 2009!!!! 5 full scholarships and 3 partial scholarships! 1 was even in Missouri!!!
We sent 6 campers in 2010, even more in 2011 and hope to send even more this year!!
Please note that we try to provide the summer camp experience to as many individuals with Down syndrome as we can, and cannot sponsor a camper more than 1 consecutive year or more than 2 times in 5 years.
