We are an official 501(c)(3), non-profit corporation now!!! This will allow us to take Upside of Down.org to the next level of our long term plan. The first phase was to get the website going and raise awareness, that's going great - thanks to all of you that are forwarding our site on to others!
One of our longer term goals is to send kids from lower income families with Down syndrome to summer camp. The camp of choice for Summer of 2010 is Down Home Ranch, located in Elgin, TX. For younger campers, please complete the application below and let us know the camp of choice in the comments section!
Down Home Ranch's 'Ranch Camp' "is an innovative camp for children and adults with mental handicaps. It is designed and operated with their special needs in mind. Ranch Camp is licensed by the Texas Department of Health.
Ranch Camp is located on a beautiful 267 acre ranch located northeast of Austin. The Ranch has a large pond, greenhouses, miniature donkeys and horses, and an above-ground pool. We sent 8 campers in 2009!!!! 5 full scholarships and 3 partial scholarships! 1 was even in Missouri!!!
